Team Kaos Announces New Shop Sponsors

Rich Pearson, Team Kaos Sponsor Coordinator, announced in November that Team Kaos is now sponsored by Greenstreet Cycles in Omaha and Papillion and Wheelie Good Bike Shop in Lincoln.  Sponsorship by two shops is unique, and it allows Team Kaos members to have sponsor shops in both Lincoln and Omaha.  Both shops sell Specialized bikes and equipment (as well as other brands) and are focused on providing top quality products and service to their customers at a reasonable price.  Ben Swan, owner of Greenstreet, and Dana Stefanidis, owner of Wheelie Good, are avid cyclists who know what their customers want and can provide a high level of expertise.

Greenstreet has been growing steadily since opening about 10 years ago.  The first store was located near Ameritrade Stadium but moved to 2452 Harney Street in Omaha in 2013.  Owner Ben Swan has been active in rejuvenating that area of Omaha.  He converted an abandoned building into a bike shop, coffee shop, and dog grooming business.   Muglife Coffee Lab is attached to the store but is a separate business.  His wife’s dog grooming business was next door but is now moving across the street. Greenstreet carries Specialized, Felt, Cervelo, Masi and other brands, with a variety of bikes at different price ranges.   In early 2018 Swan opened a second store in Papillion at 225 S Washington Street.   Check it out at greenstreetcycles.com or on facebook.

Wheelie Good Bike Ship opened in March at 5633 S 16th street in Lincoln, the same place as our previous sponsor Joyride Cycles.  Owner Dana Stefanidis was the manager at Joyride for several years, and when Joyride went out of business last December he took the opportunity to continue providing good products and service at a reasonable price.   Because the shop is near the Lincoln trails system he will have a good customer base.  Wheelie Good sells Specialized and Felt bikes and accessories.  Check it out at www.wheeliegoodbikeshop.com or on facebook.

Here is the link to MyLaps results for the Nebraska State Championship Road Race, including lap times.  Official USAC results will be posted in a day or two.  https://results.sporthive.com/events/PC1397413    Thanks to Mark Sullivan (with assistance from Rich Anderson and Mike Dixon and many others) for doing a great job.  Rich Pearson
  5/21 UPDATE

Thanks to all the riders who came out yesterday and battled on the road for another shot at the state championship, and to the volunteers that helped make it run smooth. This was promoted as a classic midwest road race, and I guess in that sense it wouldnt have seemed appropriate without a little wind & rain. As a race director I was glad there were no crashes that I was aware of, in spite of the wet roads.

Please stay tuned for posting of race pics taken by Kaos member Mike Dixon.

*UPDATE*

Here is the  State Championship Course map & profile . This is a classic midwest road course you wont want to miss, with rolling hills and the wind usually is a factor. Each lap is aprox 10 miles & a little over 600ft elevation gain with a slight uphill finish. A feed zone will be located just beyond the finish line . Pavement is good . The pothole on the corner of Hwy 66 & 334th St has been repaired , so no more dodging that infamous hole ! Thank you State Dept. of Roads !

Registration / Parking info & map

The start / registration /  staging area is in South Bend this year located on course on Hwy 66, at the gas station at address 103 Nevada St, South bend. Please do not park here since this area is reserved for staging, registering & follow vehicles . Parking in the town of South Bend is limited to Nebraska & Nevada Streets and must not park on grass or block driveways. Adequate parking IS AVAILABLE on 328th St , which is located across the street from Staging area and heads straight south approx 700 meters and includes 2 parking lots. You may park on the shoulder of 328th St. or in the lots. This is a gravel road but it is hard pack. When EXITING it is best to HEAD SOUTH on 328th st. and take a sharp left on Kimberly, which takes you back to Hwy 66.
