Kaos Members Keep Going All Summer Long


Team Kaos members continue to be successful in a variety of cycling related events. Here is a sampling of races so far this summer:

Kyle McClellan raced in the Dead Dog Classic in Laramie Wyoming where he had a mid-pack finish in both the time trial and road race (category 2).  He also competed in the Tour of Lawrence the following week.

Clear Lake BBQ on July 7-8: Rich Pearson won the time trial, criterium and Road Race in the Masters 60+ division, with Scott Bullfinch grabbing 3rd, 2nd and 3rdnd in these to wind up 2nd in the omnium for 60+. Andrew Karstrom participated as a junior in all three races.

In the Papillion Triathlon July 15th Kaos had several high finishes: Brandon Fenster came in 4th overall, Lou Andersen got 29th overall and 2nd in his age division. Mark Heubner came in 9th overall and 1st in the juniors. Anne Andersen came in 4th in her age division.

Kevin Limpach and Rich Pearson rode the IGranfondo July 21st where Limpach crossed the line first. (he was getting ready for Leadville)

Omaha Triathlon August 4th: Youth Super Sprint Distance: Andrew Karstrom 1st Overall Sprint Distance Anne Andersen 2nd in her Age Group, Lou Andersen 2nd in his Age Group. Olympic Distance: Brandon Fenster 3rd in his Age Group.

Several riders went to Des Moines on August 4th for the East Village Criterium.  Kevin Limpach 4th and Kyle McClellan 18 in cat 1/2 (Limpach also was 2nd in the masters race); Jordon Ross and John Rokke 3rd and 4th in Category 3; Mark Huebner 4th and Mike Dixon 12th in category 4; Randy Marks 22nd in Category 5. Manawa Mayhem: August 11th: several Kaos rider were participating but results are not available yet

Scott Bulfinch and Suzanne Wilson took part in the Nebraska Senior Games in Kearny August 4.  Wilson cleaned up in the womens division.

Xterra bolt (a triathlon with mountain biking) August 11th: Craig Tuttle ( no official results available yet)

Mark Weitzel has been making the circuits in Kansas and Iowa: The Tour of Lawrence on June 30th (He was in the same group as Rich Pearson when Pearson crashed), the State Line Road Race July 14th, the Sunflower State Games July 22 (3rd in the 50 59 age group) and the Kansas State Road Race August 5th where he was 1st in the 50-59 age group. (Mark lives in Kansas so he is the new state champ for his age group. The on August 11 he drove over to the Iowa State Road Race where he got 2nd in the 50-59 age group.

Kevin Limpach just finished the Leadville 100 on August 11:  100 miles of off road torture at 7000 feet. He finished a very respectable 183 out of 1481 overall and 40 out of 570 in his 40-49 age group. (Just to finish under 10 hours is amazing).

After a short Labor Day break we start the cyclocross season. Several Kaos members will be active in cyclocross this fall, culminating in the National and World Championships in January.
