Team Kaos at Benefit Rides
Team Kaos continues its tradition of supporting benefit (charity) rides. Recently several Team Kaos riders participated in the Tour de Cure (to benefit diabetes research) and the Rollin to Colon (colon cancer research). In addition Team Kaos made donations to both organizations. Check the link for other benefit rides, or if you know of one that is not on our list click on Contact Us to let us know.
Team Kaos puts on another successful race weekend
On June 8th and 9th Team Kaos once again organized a successful Nebraska Omnium Weekend. This was a cooperative effort with Greenstreet Velo who were the promoters for the Sid Dillon State Championship Time Trial, held in Yutan on June 8th. Team Kaos then took over and put on the first ever Ashland Criterium in Ashland (between Lincoln and Omaha) on Saturday evening June 8th, and then the Sid Dillon Road Race near South Bend, just east of Ashland on Sunday June 9th.. Points were awarded for each race and the riders with the most points won the omnium. See details at www.NebraskaOmnium.com.
This took a lot of hard work by many volunteers but it was worth it. Rider numbers were about 50% higher than last year for the road race despite threatening weather. Participation at the criterium was very good also, even though it rained off and on during the races. At least two groups raced in pouring rain. Remarkably there were no major crashes and only a couple case of road rash from minor spills unrelated to the weather.
